In 2020, the 4th generation Audi A3 with codename 8Y was released in many countries such as China, Germany and so on, and a few new generation Audi A3 car models are available with the release of new A3, however, as far as I know, there is no 1/18 scale new generation Audi A3 diecast model released, if you are a collector who are only interested in 1/18 scale Audi A3 models, you can only choose the replica models of 2nd generation Audi A3 and 3rd generation Audi A3, both of which will be introduced in following article.
2nd generation Audi A3
In 2003, the 2nd generation Audi A3 was released with three body styles including 3-door hatchback, 5-door sportback and 2-door convertible, in diecast models market, you can only find the 1/18 scale 5-door sportback models, which are displayed below.

In fact, both these two 2004 Audi A3 Sportback models were manufactured by Kyosho, looking at two pictures, their exteriors are the same, and the only difference is the factory package. Now these two 2nd generation Audi A3 models are very rare, and its price is much higher than before.
In 2008, there is a facelift edition for the 2nd generation Audi A3, however, no related 1/18 scale car model was released.
3rd Generation Audi A3
In 2012, the 3rd generation Audi A3 with codename 8V was released, and different with two previous generations A3, new body style 4-door sedan was released since this generation, so that buyers have more choices when buying real Audi A3, in some countries such as China, Audi sedan is preferred choice than Audi Sportback.
This new generation Audi A3 was manufactured in China for the first time by joint venture enterprise FAW-Volkswagen in Foshan, Guandong, and both 4-door sedan and 5-door hatchback A3 were manufactured here. In fact, the 1/18 scale 3rd generation Audi A3 models are the replica model of Audi A3 in China. Looking at pictures below.

However, the price between A3 limousine model and A3 Sportback model has a large gap, it is common to find A3 sportback model at affordable price and the price is Audi A3 limousine model is much higher.
